Assistant/Associate Professor, Department of Mathematical Sciences

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Delaware State University seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor
starting in the fall of 2013. A Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics is required.

The Department offers undergraduate degrees in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, and Mathematics with Computer Science; Master's degrees in Mathematics and Mathematics Education; and Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Applied Mathematics and Mathematical Physics. Delaware State University (DSU) has a diversified faculty and student population of more than 4,000 undergraduate and graduate students. DSU is located in Dover, Delaware and has campuses in Wilmington and Georgetown, Delaware.

In addition to possessing excellent communication skills, the candidate must be able to demonstrate ability to teach both graduate and undergraduate levels. The successful candidate will also have an opportunity to undertake research with DSU colleagues in federal or state funded research projects. He or she will have a proven research capability in signal and/or image processing, pattern recognition, ground-penetrating radar, numerical analysis, numerical partial differential equations with stochastic differential equation component and/or non-linear waves.

As a successful candidate and a new faculty member, you will work in an exciting environment that encourages collaborative and multi-disciplinary approaches to improve and strengthen the department research goals.
